About WebCryptogram
WebCryptogram is a free daily cryptogram puzzle site with a permanent archive of 1015+ puzzles. Every puzzle encodes a genuine famous quote using a letter substitution cipher — each letter of the alphabet is swapped for a different one, consistently throughout the puzzle. Your job is to decode it using pattern recognition, letter frequency, and logic.
The site tracks your solve time, counts hints and errors, and rates your performance against par — the expected time for a solver of average skill at that difficulty level. Beat par and you're doing well. A personal best means you're getting sharper.
Puzzles are free to print for personal and classroom use. Teachers are welcome to use them without permission — just credit WebCryptogram.com on printed copies. Read our solving guide →
